| The Frenzie - Life Theatre |
A note from the Executive Producer/Co-Founder:
In the beginning... Michael and I met in 1978 at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where we were each pursuing a degree in Speech and Dramatic Arts. We moved to California and married in 1985. In 1998, after living in Nashville a few years, we
moved to Valrico when Michael was presented with an offer to teach Theatre Arts at Bloomingdale Sr. High School. Even though musicals tend to be real
"crowd pleasers," and Michael had a history of piano performance and professional musical direction, he felt his students deserved a well-rounded
education in "straight" theatre. Therefore, Michael mounted non-musical comedic and dramatic productions for the first several years at BSHS. He
later added musicals which opened the department up to a whole new group of Drama Geeks - singers! We had a blast. Unfortunately, the full-time
drama position was dissolved in 2006 and Michael resigned from teaching at that time.
In the summer of 2007, Michael asked me, "If you could do anything in the world, what would it be? What would be your dream?" I said, "Well, if we won
the Lottery, I would want to travel for about a year. Then, move to NYC for a year and experience all that city has to offer. Then, I would want to
find a small town, not too far from a decent sized city, and open our own little theatre."
Well, we didn't win the Lottery, and we didn't travel the world or live in NYC for a year, but we have reached the same goal. We have created our own
theatre production company. We are excited to join the community theatre family in the Greater Brandon area. We have discovered a wealth of talent over
the years and have been fortunate to work with some wonderful performers, techies, writers, dancers, designers, musicians and artists.
This is a new beginning and truly a dream come true.
Thank you for your support,
